What is Behind the Looking Glass?
When working with seniors, we will deal with the issue of procrastination. Those who truly need to move are staying in their homes and are susceptible to crisis management. It is critical to understand what is behind that procrastination. You will hear that, “I have too much stuff”, or “this is just too overwhelming”. Those are surface excuses which are unconsciously used to fend off the actual move that is necessary.
Fear of the unknown, fear of change is behind those reasons for not making a move and then the procrastination that paralyses these seniors that would be far better off in a new safe and thriving environment.
